Things just keep getting increasingly heartbreaking where Amanda Bynes is concerned.
Earlier today, Amanda took to her Twitter feed to share outrageous claims against her own father in a 14-tweet rant. The former movie starlet told the world he had made sexual advances on her as a child, including “fondling himself” in front of her.

Now, her mother, Lynn Bynes, is speaking out agains her daughter’s claims.
Lynn Bynes’ attorney Tamar Arminak shared the statement, saying:
“I am heartbroken today for my husband of 47 years. Rick has been the best father and husband a family can ask for. He has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda’s mental state at the moment. They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband’s character could be slandered in such a way.”
It’s so sad to think of the family torn apart this way.
Amanda clearly needs help. But if her parent’s aid isn’t an option for her, then someone else needs to step up and be in her corner.
Someone please stand up and be in her corner.
