Amber Portwood Had 'No Drugs' In Her System At Time Of Alleged Assault, Says Source!

Amber Portwood did not reportedly relapse.

Amber Portwood‘s recent arrest did not involve drugs, says a source.
As we reported, after she allegedly assaulted boyfriend Andrew Glennon while he was holding their 1-year-old son James, the Teen Mom OG star was reportedly charged with domestic battery, criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, and domestic battery committed in the presence of a child less than 16 years old.

According to a People report published on Wednesday, the MTV personality — who has been open about her struggle with addiction — did not relapse despite her legal troubles.
Per the insider:

“The situation is a little more complicated than what’s been reported. There was an argument that escalated and now they aren’t allowed to communicate… There were no drugs involved.”

The source added:

“This is a very challenging time for Amber, who loves her son more than anything… Now she will need to determine next steps following what just occurred, but she has a great lawyer.”

Last Friday in Indianapolis, Portwood and her beau reportedly had a heated argument, which allegedly resulted in her assaulting him around 2 a.m.
Per dispatch audio of the alleged incident, Glennon claimed his and his son’s lives were in danger.
According to the police report, Andrew texted a police officer that very thing, and added:

“I need help.”

Reportedly, Andrew told authorities Amber hit him with her shoe on the right side of his neck, causing pain and abrasions.
An officer reportedly saw the marks on Glennon’s neck, and took photos for evidence.
Andrew reportedly told cops this was not the first time Amber had struck him, adding she allegedly threatened to physically harm him numerous times.
Allegedly, Portwood admitted to hitting Glennon, but said it was lightly on his shoulder — and only did so because he was recording her.
Additionally, per court documents published this week in Marion (IN) Superior Court, Amber allegedly used a machete in the dispute.
The legal papers read:

“[Amber] struck the machete at and into a door, while Andrew Glennon was standing directly on the other side of the door, that created a substantial risk of bodily injury to Andrew Glennon.”

The court documents added:

“[Amber] knowingly touched Andrew Glennon, a family or household member, in a rude, insolent, or angry manner and Amber L Portwood committed said offense in the presence of a child less than 16 years of age, knowing that the child was present and might be able to see or hear the offense.”

Because of the drama, on Tuesday, Andrew filed legal documents, and is demanding an emergency hearing where he wants sole custody of their son.
Amber — who also shares 10-year-old daughter Leah with ex Gary Shirley — was released from jail on Saturday, July 6 after a “woman unrelated to Portwood” bailed her out with a $2,000 cash bond.
