The cover was originally considered as an option for the magazine’s Met Gala coverage, but after the Boston bombings, the editors scrapped the idea.
In honor of tonight’s Met Ball, however, the cray, Darrow-illustrated cover is getting a little time in the spotlight.
Aren’t you so glad this exists?!
And there’s still time for La Wintour to consider this look before she walks the Met steps. Ha!
