Anne Hathaway‘s not about to burn any designer bridges, especially with the man who made her wedding dress!
And it appears the rumors of Amanda Seyfried inadvertently stealing Annie’s fashion thunder were true!
The actress recently released a statement apologizing for ditching her Valentino dress at the last minute, saying:
“It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans. Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself. I deeply regret any disappointment caused.”
We’re guessing there was simply no time for the actress to get her hands on a different Valentino dress in time for the ceremony, so she just went with her second fave–Prada!
And we also just hallucinated a bit thinking of all the fanciful frocks she must’ve had at her disposal!
But don’t worry, girl, we’re sure Mr. Garavani is the forgiving type.
There’s gonna be many more opportunities to wear his creations in the future! Possibly for a second Oscar win. Ha!
