It’s really upsetting that this keeps happening!
First, the Bluesfest main stage collapsed during a show last month, leaving multiple people injured but no fatalities.
Then, fans were injured and killed over the weekend when a stage set to host Sugarland collapsed at the Indiana State Fair.
Now, another stage has collapsed during a Belgian music festival, both injuring and killing fans in attendance.
While he couldn’t save everyone, we give Jared Leto credit for his efforts to warn fans about the dangerous conditions via Twitter. Here’s what he had to say to festivalgoers:
“CRAZY STORM AT PUKKELPOP IN BELGIUM – NOT SURE WE WILL BE ABLE TO GO ON STAGE – STAYED TUNED. SAFETY FIRST.”
“FOUR STAGES DOWN – STILL RAINING + THUNDER IF YOU ARE HERE PLEASE BE SAFE”
“SERIOUS INJURIES AT THE FESTIVAL. MORE BAD WEATHER POSS HEADING THIS WAY. PLEASE TAKE CARE AND CAUTION.”
Thanks for trying, Jared.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was affected by this tragic event. We hope this is the last time we hear about a stage collapsing!
Truly disturbing.
