Following the debut of Ariana Grande‘s single and music video, 7 Rings, the songstress has been at the center of controversy over plagiarism and cultural appropriation.
Now, the 25-year-old is getting called out once again as she shared a new Japanese tattoo inked on her palm to Instagram on Tuesday, meant to celebrate the song. In the since-deleted post, Ari’s art used Japanese Kanji character symbols meant to say “7 Rings,” but instead, it actually translates to “shichirin,” which is a small Japanese grill.

So, of course Ari got trolled on Twitter for this semi-permanent mistake, though she seemingly tweeted-then-deleted addressing her mistake, saying:

Though critics aren’t finding her alleged Japanese appropriation funny at all. After noticing Grande is selling a sweatshirt on her site with the Japanese characters translating to “thank you” (seen HERE) just to promote her track thank u, next, it has sparked a whole debate online:
