The Tampa Bay Rays have apologized to their fans after Avril Lavigne dropped the F-bomb during a post-game concert in Tropicana Field on Saturday.
On Sunday, a spokesperson from the major league baseball team said in a statement:
“The Rays demand profanity-free performances from all of our concert performers and we are extremely disappointed by the language used in last night├óΓé¼Γäós show. It is not consistent with the family-friendly atmosphere that Tropicana Field is known for.”
After having some microphone malfunctions during a song, the singer shouted out to the crowd:
“Yeah! This is a f*cking live show! On a f*cking baseball field!”
Not the best choice of words, but better than a nip slip! LOLz!
The press has labeled her string of expletives as a “meltdown”, however, as you can watch above, it was more of a playful outburst.
Her language DEFINITELY was not the most appropriate for such a family friendly crowd, so we completely understand why the Rays and audience members are upset, but we wouldn’t quite call it a meltdown.
This, much like other incidents during sporting events in the past, proves you never quite know what will happen at a live show!
