This sounds like a scene from a horror movie — but it’s this poor babysitter’s reality!
According to a new Facebook post from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office in Kansas, a young woman was left stunned while babysitting for a family in the city of Great Bend. On Monday, she was reportedly getting the children ready for bed when one of them complained about a “monster” hiding underneath the bed. A typical child complaint, we’ve all heard it… but what happened next will make you rethink looking under there.

In the post, law officials explain that when she peeked underneath the bed, the young woman came “face-to-face” with a man:
“When putting the children to bed, one child complained there was a ‘monster’ under their bed. When the victim attempted to show the child there was nothing under the bed, she came face-to-face with a male suspect who was hiding there.”
OMG! The scariest thing imaginable! Shy of an actual monster. We guess the babysitter’s fight-or-flight response kicked in! The report continued:
“An altercation ensued with the babysitter and one child was knocked over in the struggle. The suspect then fled the scene before deputies arrived.”
Horrifying!!
At least he ran away! And the cops tracked him down… Police were quick to identify a suspect, naming Martin Villalobos Junior (pictured above) as the alleged trespasser. According to the Sheriffs Office, he’d been given a protective order from the residence:
“The victim identified the suspect as Martin Villalobos Junior, who once lived at the residence but there was currently a protection from abuse order issued against him to stay away from the property. Deputies searched the area that evening for the suspect but were unable to locate him.”
The next morning, on Tuesday, they finally captured their suspect. Chillingly, he was already back at the home he’d fled from the night before! Thank goodness they caught him in time!
He was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, child endangerment, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and violation of a protection from abuse order. The 27-year-old was booked into Barton County Jail and has a $500,000 bond. See the full post from the Sheriff’s Office (below):
Terrifying… We’re glad no one was hurt, but we can’t imagine how scary that was for the babysitter. Reactions, Perezcious readers?
