There’s friendly… and then there’s very friendly…
As we’ve been covering, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez spent last weekend with their hands all over each other — including that infamous kiss that has since been heard (seen) around the world. But now, it turns out that all the PDA they’ve been offering up is nothing more than an attempt to smooth out the pain of divorce for their kids. Huh?!

So, J.Lo is obviously mom to 16-year-old twins Emme and Max, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony. And Ben, as we are all well aware by now, shares children Violet, 18, Finn, 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. With those five kids all sadly feeling the effects of this divorce, a source is now saying that the 55-year-old actress and the 52-year-old movie star got their smooch on because of the children! LOLz.
Speaking to People on Monday, an insider was quick to note how even amid last week’s jaw-dropping PDA, the estranged couple is “still moving forward with the divorce” as they “continue to focus on the kids.” And the PDA itself is apparently popping up for a very specific reason: to prove to those very same kids that the A-listers don’t hate each other even as they split up! And that they are on good enough terms to keep things civil (uh, VERY civil) even amid their break! The insider explained:
“They want to show the kids that things are amicable. They want to stay friendly. There’s still a lot of love.”
Hmmm… really??? Call us skeptical on this one. Full-on kissing in front of the kids doesn’t make them look “friendly” and like there’s “still a lot of love” involved. If anything, it only makes things look confusing AF! Be friendly, sure — but be platonic as you do it!

Like, are they splitting or not?! (Yes, they obviously are, per that same source.) Sooo… why get all abruptly physical amid the split?! Like we said, there is the desire to “stay friendly,” and then there is the push to get very, very (VERY, VERY) friendly! WTF! Make it make sense!
