Whatever show Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez seemed so intent on putting on a few days ago, after the story of their supposedly impending breakup broke? That’s all over now! In just two days, Ben has now skipped as many red carpets he could have walked with his wife.
J.Lo had yet another premiere for her new sci-fi movie Atlas on Tuesday, and once again Ben didn’t bother to show up on her arm. Monday night’s event was even in El Lay, the same city the Argo director is filming his new movie The Accountant 2. So you’d think that would be the more egregious miss, right?
Well, not so fast. Because even though he would have had to travel to Mexico City to be with Jen on Tuesday night, this time he definitely didn’t have a work obligation! No, the Justice League alum was photographed in Santa Monica having a guys’ night! People reported he was with some guy friends at Italian restaurant Giorgio Baldi. And now there are even more deets about his dinner. A witness told the outlet Wednesday afternoon:
“He was in a great mood. He seemed very relaxed and happy. Everyone chatted and seemed to enjoy.”
Huh. Is this a good sign for the relationship? Or a terrible one?

Obviously if Ben were miserable, that would be worse. But the idea he’s laughing and having a grand ol’ time while playing hooky from hubby duties? That’s gotta be disheartening if you’re worried the marriage is hanging by a thread, right? Like… what if he’s happier away from her, without all the stress she supposedly puts on him with her rigorous standards??
Either way, it’s clear it’s not just when unwinding. As another source reminds the mag, Ben has “been busy filming this week too” — and he’s been happy-go-lucky there, too!
“He’s professional and shows up early on the set. He seems focused and ready to work when he arrives. He looks very happy and is super friendly with everyone on set.”
