original 90210 cast poster

There’s no denying the definitive impact that Beverly Hills: 90210 and its iconic cast have left on pop culture since the teen drama first premiered in 1990.
Starring eight relatively unknown actors and chronicling their elite El Lay lifestyles, the beloved show has created an entire franchise universe consisting of: Melrose Place, Models Inc, 90210, the 2009 version of Melrose Place, and the 2019 revival BH90210.

Let’s head back to West Beverly High, and see where the OG cast is at today before we head into the age of the reboot!

Jason Priestley

Jason was catapulted to teen idol status when he was cast as Brandon Walsh in 1990. He was nominated for two Golden Globes for his role, and directed 15 episodes of the show. Priestley was the last Walsh family member to leave the show, exiting in 1998, but remained on staff as an executive producer until the show ended.
Today, he is a father to two children, Ava and Dashiell with his wife of 14 years, Naomi Lowde-Priestley. We will see him in the reboot.

Shannen Doherty

After leaving the series at the end of the fourth season in 1994, Miz Doherty was later cast in another Aaron Spelling TV show, Charmed. Costarring alongside Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs, Shannen stayed on until 2001 at the end of season three, reportedly because of tension with Milano. Later, she reprised her role of Brenda Walsh in 2008 as a guest star on The CW‘s 90210 alongside Jennie Garth.
While her character is no doubt iconic, she did gain a “bad girl” reputation on set, including feuds with costars that even escalated to reported physical violence with Miz Garth. In 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer which had spread to her lymph nodes, but thankfully in 2017 she shared that her cancer was in remission. We will see her in the reboot.

Jennie Garth

Jennie starred in all ten seasons of the series, directing two episodes during her time as Kelly Taylor. She later reprised her role in the CW spin-off as a guidance counselor at West Beverly High. Though she continued to act in other roles, including starring in What I Like About You alongside Amanda Bynes, she is still best known for her role as Kelly.
Jennie has been married three times, and has three daughters — Luca, Lola, and Fiona Facinelli, with her second husband Peter Facinelli. She remains close to this day with Tori Spelling, and is returning in BH: 90210.

Ian Ziering

Ian starred through all ten seasons as rich kid Steve Sanders, the adopted son of a famed TV actress, but did not reprise his role on the subsequent CW spin-off. He later appeared on Dancing With The Stars, as well as multiple other reality TV programs including Celebrity Apprentice and Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition.
After things didn’t work out with his first wife Nikki Schieler, he was remarried to Erin Ludwig in 2010, and has two daughters with her — Mia and Penna. We will see him in the reboot.

Gabrielle Carteris

At the age of 29, the oldest of any cast member to portray a teenager, Gabrielle was cast as the studious Van Nuys native Andrea Zuckerman. She eventually became a member of the inner gang, and was close with the rest of the ladies until leaving at the end of the fifth season, later making guest star appearances in the series.
Andrea’s pregnancy in season four of the series was because of Carteris’ IRL pregnancy with her daughter Kelsey, and also has another daughter Mollie, both with her husband Charles Isaacs. In 2012, she became the vice president of SAG-AFTRA, and has served as president of the labor union since March 2016. We will see her in the reboot.

Luke Perry

Originally, Luke Perry didn’t audition for the role of bad boy billionaire Dylan McKay, he tried out for Steve Sanders! We think the casting worked out perfectly, with the hunky Mr. Perry becoming a beloved teen idol of the early 1990s. He left the series in 1995, but returned as a special guest star from 1998 to 2000. He later headed to another teen drama series in 2017, in the role of hot dad Fred Andrews on Riverdale.
On February 27, 2019, Luke unfortunately suffered a massive stroke in his Sherman Oaks, California home. After a second stroke, his family made the difficult decision to remove him from life support. Luke passed away on March 4, 2019 at the age of 52. He leaves behind a dedicated fan base, daughter Sophie Perry and son Jack Perry with his ex-wife Rachel Minnie Sharp, and fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer.

Brian Austin Green

The actor had a recurring role on the soap opera Knots Landing from 1986-1989 before he hit his big break as David Silver. Green has been subject of extreme scrutiny since 2004 when he began a relationship at the age of 30 with 18-year-old Megan Fox, and has openly said he “hated being famous during 90210,” when photographed and followed in more recent years.
Green was previously in relationships with two of his costars, Tiffani Thiessen, and Vanessa Marcil, with whom he has a son Kassius. His relationship with Miz Fox has been tumultuous, separating and reconciling on more than one occasion. The two have three sons — Bodhi, Noah, and Journey, together. We will see him in the reboot.

Tori Spelling

Tori began acting at a young age, guest-starring and appearing in multiple TV shows and movies including Troop Beverly Hills and Saved By The Bell. She was later cast in the teen series as Donna Martin thanks to her father Aaron, who was a producer of the show, and later reprised her role on the spin-off 90210.
In the years since wrapping the show, she has appeared on multiple reality TV programs and written six books. Her first marriage to actor Charlie Shanian fell apart in 2005 when she met Mind Over Matter costar Dean McDermott, who she married soon after divorcing Shanian. She has five children with McDermott: Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau. We will see her in the reboot.
