Bicyclist Dies During Longest One-Day Race In USA!

Bicyclist Die Fall Race
At least he died doing what he loved, though, no life should be cut as short as his.
The bicyclist, Robert Verhaaren, didn’t die of a heart attack or dehydration in a race from Logan, Utah, to Jackson Hole, Wyo.
He crashed on a bridge and fell overboard, about 35 feet.
Robert was trying to avoid a pot hole, so he swerved — he was only 8 miles away from the finish line!
A spokesperson says it’s the first fatality in the race’s 30-year history, and the race itself is billed as the longest one-day bicycle race in the country sanctioned by USA Cycling.
Such a loss, we hope his family and friends can stay strong through this.
