After more than two years together, the comedians-turned-power-couple have gone their separate ways, and the reason for it is about as painfully adult as it gets.
According to People, the breakup happened quietly, without any dramatic unfollowing sprees or messy subtweets. No mess, no scandal, no cheating rumors — just two busy humans realizing love alone doesn’t always conquer scheduling hell.

A source close to the situation spilled on Wednesday about how timing was the real villain here:
“It was too difficult to make the relationship work with Ali’s upcoming stand up tour and Bill’s various film and TV projects this year.”
Ugh.
And before you spiral into despair, take a deep breath, because this isn’t a scorched-earth situation. The insider made it clear there’s no bad blood at all, calling the split “very amicable,” and adding:
“They’re focusing on their work and kids, while continuing to support and root for each other.”
The source even went on to insist that the vibes between the pair are still friendly and warm:
“They are very much friends and still in touch.”
Fans had been whispering about trouble for months, especially after Ali didn’t walk the red carpet with Bill or mention him during her Golden Globes win earlier this year. At the time, reps brushed it off as a health-related absence, but hindsight is always 20/20, isn’t it?
For now, it looks like these two are choosing careers, kids, and peace over forcing something that no longer fits. And so we’re still rooting for them! Just… separately.
