We don’t know if Blake Lively really threatened Taylor Swift with the potential leak of years of private texts… but it would certainly fit how the squad has been treating Blake and hubby Ryan Reynolds!
There have been signs Blake and Ryan are on the outs with Tay. Travis Kelce unfollowing Ryan. Gigi Hadid not inviting Blake to her 30th birthday party — which was in NYC, where Blake lives! It definitely seems like they’re on the outs!
DeuxMoi spoke to an insider before recording this week’s Deux U podcast, and they confirmed Blake and Ryan have been “iced out of the friend group.” Ouch! But this has been going on since before the extortion revelation!

It all started with the revelation of that Game Of Thrones text — you know, where Blake compared herself to Khaleesi, implying Tay was one of her “dragons”? The Look What You Made Me Do singer reportedly just thought she was going to her friend’s place to hang… but according to Justin Baldoni she scheduled it such that Tay arrived just before he left — in time to sing her friend’s praises. Blake then wrote him in an already infamous text he included in his lawsuit docs:
“If you ever get around to watching Game of Thrones, you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you.”
It all stank of setup to the filmmaker, using her friendship with Taylor as an intimidation tactic to get her way. And apparently Tay thought the same thing when she learned about all this, which was the same time the rest of us did!
Deux’s source said that dragon text caused “significant friction” between Taylor and Blake. The pop star was “embarrassed” and told her BFF, per the source:
“I need space.”
That’s in line with what we’ve heard. Sources later claimed they had patched things up… But… What if that wasn’t true? What if a few planted stories here and there made it seem like they were on the path to peace, but it was all BS? We mean, if Blake was threatening Taylor behind the scenes in February there was definitely still bad blood. Obviously there would have been after, no way Tay could have forgiven such a threat. Deux’s source agreed btw, saying they had no idea if it happened but:
“If that is true, that’s it. Taylor is done. There’s no chance that this friendship could be revived.”
But that’s not what we mean. We mean, why would Blake have thrown away the friendship if it was already doing better? If this extortion attempt really happened, then our guess is the besties never recovered from the dragon text.
