Don’t expect Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to make an appearance at the Golden Globes this weekend!
If you don’t know, his movie Deadpool & Wolverine was nominated in the cinematic and box office achievement category after grossing $1.33 billion worldwide. It is Ryan’s only nomination for the night, yet he won’t be at the show in Los Angeles on Sunday night! According to Deadline on Friday, he and Blake aren’t attending the event! Neither is his co-star and friend Hugh Jackman!

This comes amid her nasty legal drama with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. As you know by now, after months of feud rumors, Blake accused the actor of sexual harassment in a bombshell complaint and sued him for emotional distress. She also claimed Justin launched a smear campaign against her to “destroy” her reputation, including text receipts to back her claims. The Jane the Virgin alum denied the allegations and even filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times for their coverage of the legal battle. He also plans to sue Blake “soon.” Yikes.
It’s a very messy situation! But Is it the reason Blake and Ryan are staying far away from the Golden Globes? No. A source told Page Six on Saturday that the couple decided to skip the award show long before her legal drama with Justin and isn’t due to the controversy at all. Hmm. However, an exact reason for why they chose not to attend wasn’t given. The insider did mention that It Ends With Us wasn’t nominated, nor was Blake booked as a presenter.
The It Ends With Us debacle may not have been the main reason, but we have a feeling what’s gone down over the past couple of weeks reassured Blake and Ryan that they made the right decision not to attend the Golden Globes. Reactions? Let us know in the comments.
