The legal drama between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is far from over!
As Perezcious readers know, following months of feud rumors, the actress accused her It Ends With Us director/co-star of sexual harassment in a shocking lawsuit, claiming he fat-shamed her, showed her pornographic videos and pictures, and more. When Blake spoke out about the inappropriate and gross behavior that allegedly happened on set, she claimed he and his team retaliated against her by starting a smear campaign to “destroy” her reputation. And she provided a bunch of receipts, including texts, to back her allegations, which were first published by The New York Times late last month.

But then Justin and nine other plaintiffs filed a bombshell $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times this week for allegedly cherry-picking when it came to their reporting of Blake’s complaint. He provided his own evidence to deny the allegations from the Gossip Girl alum, which appears to have poked a lot of holes in her story of what went down on the set of It Ends With Us.
Justin doesn’t only plan to sue The New York Times, though! As attorney Bryan Freedman said in an interview with NBC News correspondent Liz Kreutz, which aired on TODAY on Friday, the suit against the outlet “will not be the last lawsuit.” The actor fully plans to go after Blake, too! When asked about plans to sue her, Freedman replied:
“Absolutely.”
This move isn’t surprising! We fully expect it to happen very soon. But with the countersuit, Justin plans to “release every single text message between” him and Blake! EVERY TEXT?? Whoa! He’s doing everything he can to try to prove his innocence! Freedman continued:
“I’m not asking anyone to not believe anyone. I am more than willing to take every single text message that exists out there, lay them out, put them on a website for the world to see, have them see the truth and determine the truth for themselves.”
What is the “truth,” according to Freedom? He insisted in the interview that Justin never organized a smear campaign against Blake just because they had issues on set:
“One hundred percent no. Justin Baldoni, from the get-go, said, ‘I don’t want to do anything negative toward her. I don’t want to hurt her.’”
Hmm. There are text messages in Justin’s suit showing that even he and his PR team said they weren’t involved in the public backlash against Lively, despite what she made it seem like in her filing… But will the rest of the texts he plans to drop further prove his supposed innocence?? We will have to wait to find out.
