ICYMI: Bono Leaves 80-Year-Old Waitress GENEROUS Tip! Find Out How Much HERE!

How sweet! At least he gave her a hefty tip instead of a free digital copy of U2‘s album!
Bono totally made a waitress’ day early Friday morning after his band performed at The Roxy that previous evening.
It was 3 a.m. when the U2 frontman and some of his friends walked through the doors of Canter’s Deli in El Lay and he was waited on by Bella Haig, an 80-year-old waitress who had been at the restaurant for 50 years.

After they were seated, the 55-year-old basically asked the woman to serve him with whatever she felt like he should have.
Bella remembered thinking after he told her to pick an appetizer for him:

“I went to the back and I said ‘this guy doesn’t look Jewish, but I’m going to get him some matzah ball soup with carrots and noodles and chicken.'”

Shortly after, she recommended the Reuben sandwich, and according to onlookers, Bono also got french fries, onion rings, and a chocolate chip rugelach dessert on the house!
That definitely sounds like a late night meal/early breakfast for a rock star!
When everyone was done with their meal, the Irish musician paid the bill and gave Bella a $150 cash tip! Cash. Tip. On a bill that was less than $20!
She said of the generous move:

“Wow, I lucked out, I was thrilled. I was surprised it was that much.”

The veteran waitress says she’s going to use the cash to take her family out to dinner!
That huge tip is one way of showing appreciation! He must’ve really enjoyed the food there.
