The pain of Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle‘s former friend and Boy Meets World co-star Ben Savage ghosting them out of the blue is still there after all this time!
As you may recall, the pair, along with their other co-star Rider Strong, launched the Pod Meets World podcast in 2022. They wanted him to join the show but shut down the idea immediately. Not only that, the actor allegedly stopped answering all calls and texts from his castmates! He didn’t go to conventions with them anymore! He just straight-up “disappeared” from their lives!
Will previously insisted they “didn’t have a fight,” “there was no animosity,” nothing, so they have no clue why he ghosted them! Not even after all these years later! And Will told People in a joint interview with Danielle on Wednesday that his sudden disappearance has been extremely “hard” on them:
“I mean, just today, literally we were recording an episode this morning of Pod Meets World and there came a question that we all wanted to know, that we know if Ben had been on with us, it would have been answered like that and we would have heard a great story.”
Oof! Despite getting ghosted, Will is open to a reconciliation! He said:
“There’s so many times I want to pick up the phone and still do. I know I’m shouting into the void, but I’m going to keep doing it. I haven’t given up on my friend. And I’m hoping that he comes back into our lives at some point, and when he does, we’re going to have a lot to talk about.”
If Ben does, you know that conversation is going to be a tough one! He has a loooot of explaining to do for disappearing on his longtime pals!
Danielle, who played Ben’s TV wife on Boy Meets World and the reboot Girl Meets World, similarly wishes she was still a part of his life, especially after he entered a new chapter in life — fatherhood. She said:
“I love imagining him in this new chapter of his life as a dad. I know he has had a baby girl. He’s now a husband. So I love just thinking about him [in that capacity].”
According to Danielle, Ben had been heavily involved in her life and her children’s lives before their friendship unexpectedly ended. It now stings that he is a dad to a daughter, whom he welcomed with wife Tessa Angermeier in November 2025, and she isn’t by his side during this time:
“We talked a lot about how he looked forward to being a dad someday. So I like imagining this phase of life that he’s in now. And it makes me sad sometimes when I think about the fact that I would love to just know, like, ‘How’s it going? What’s happening now? What are the milestones that are being checked off?'”

Regardless of how he handled the situation, Danielle does have a lot of compassion for Ben. She shared that she comes “from a place of immense understanding and grace when it comes to the fact that not everybody wants to look back over their past with a fine-tooth comb” and that “not everybody wants to talk about uncomfortable truths.” She added:
“Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with not wanting to do that. The three of us said it was something that we did want to do. And although we were nervous, it was a journey we were willing and excited to go down. I would never try to shove that perspective down somebody’s throat and make them do it, and it wasn’t for him. And so I understand that. I’m not upset about that.”
We can imagine Ben constantly ignoring them is what actually hurts the most for her!

Danielle remains hopeful they will all be friends again one day, though. The Dancing With the Stars alum concluded:
“I think when the time is right, our story of our friendship will continue, and if not, then I’m wrong.”
The question now is: Does Ben want to reconcile with them? At this time, it doesn’t seem so, which is heartbreaking! But you never know! He may come around at some point! Let’s hope!
