Boy Meets World's Trina McGee Heartbreakingly Reveals She Had Miscarriage After Getting Pregnant At 54

Oh, this is so sad.

Trina McGee has revealed she had a miscarriage after expecting her fourth child at the age of 54. Heartbreaking!

The Boy Meets World alum, who is now 55, shared the sad news on Monday’s episode of The Tamron Hall Show. The show’s eponymous host Tamron Hall called her out on stage to talk about her pregnancy when the actress shared that she had lost the baby towards the end of the first trimester — and less than three months after telling the world about it. McGee explained:

“I did lose the baby. It wasn’t expected, it was closer to the end of the first trimester. We don’t have any real reasons why. I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and this time.”

The TV star went on to note that she experienced “a lot of depression after” the pregnancy loss, noting, “You know, It’s just kind of hard to get out of bed.” She continued:

“There’s so many things that come when you really want a family, and you want your family to be complete. There’s so many dreams that you have. It was very hard to face the fact that that’s not going to happen at this point in the junction.”

Oof.

Trina is already mom to three children, Ramia, 33, Langston, 30, and Ezra, 26, with her first husband, Courtland Davis. She and her current husband Marcello Thedford were so looking forward to this new chapter, so you can imagine how difficult the news must’ve been.

As for how she got pregnant in the first place, the Friday After Next star said she was trying to conceive but not in “a majorly aggressive way” like through IVF. The couple chose to focus on more natural remedies with the hope that something would happen if it was meant to be. And despite her age, she was excited about the possibility of having a little one:

“No one said I couldn’t. They said, ‘Hey, do you really want to at this point?’ But I’m a very athletic-type person, I feel very young. […] I wanted that experience with my current husband. Also, just knowing so much more at this age. You know, when you raise kids young you miss some things.”

Hah! That last part is SO true. It would be very different doing it now, with it being over two decades after welcoming her last child, that’s for sure!

So, will they try again?? Well, the Girl Meets World star isn’t sure yet! She mused:

“Part of me doesn’t ever want to go through this again. The conclusion I came to is, we’ll just keep loving each other, if something happens that way, fine, but I don’t want to put another anxiety on myself. Sometimes it really is better to let go and let God.”

Hear her open up about this a bit more (below)…

Our hearts go out to the couple and their family as they grieve this loss. Miscarriages are so tough.
