Britney Spears Begs Fans To Stop Being So Mean Online: 'Just Keep It To Yourself'

Britney Spears asks her fans to stop saying mean things online.

All Britney Spears wants for Christmas this year is for her fans to be much kinder online!

As December 25 steadily approaches, the pop superstar is really embracing the warm and fuzzy holiday spirit! In a new Instagram post shared on Sunday, she took the opportunity to spread some festive cheer laced with a message about kindness to her followers.

Alongside a video montage where Brit showed off her Christmas tree and danced to Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, the starlet pleaded with her fans and wrote:

“Happy holidays friends !!!! I love sharing with you all … but it’s been hard to keep wanting to share because people say the meanest things !!!

The 38-year-old continued, dishing out some sage advice to anyone with something negative to say about her:

“If you don’t like a post … just keep it to yourself and unfollow that person !!! There’s no reason to ever go out of your way to make mean comments and bully people ??? Stay happy and nice this holiday season y’all and God Bless !!!!!”

The internet is full of harsh critics left and right, and we all could certainly benefit from exercising more a bit more compassion while engaging with each other on various social media platforms.

Spears’ younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, replied to the clip with three heart emojis, while her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, left supportive words of his own in the comments section, too.

The hunky fitness trainer wrote:

“It’s so easy to cyber attack and hide behind their phones and write mean comments, but when they run into you in real life all of the sudden they act like they have been such a huge fan and want a picture ? #haterplease.”

These two are calling everyone out and we are SO here for it!

The Toxic crooner’s words come about two weeks since she happily celebrated her 38th birthday.

Despite some tough times in her very recent past — including the ongoing family and conservatorship drama — a source close to the artist confirmed to ET everything is going “incredibly well” for the singer right now.
