Britney Spears Proves She's Alive & Well Following An Upsetting Death Hoax -- See What She Had To Say!

Britney Spears is alive and well — despite an internet hoax wanting you to think otherwise!
On Monday, Sony Music Global‘s Twitter account claimed the Toxic singer had died in an accident after the social media page was hacked. This news obviously had tongues waggin’ as it came shortly after George Michael‘s death and Carrie Fisher‘s scary heart attack!

To make matters worse, Bob Dylan‘s verified page also appeared to be hacked as a similar message about BritBrit’s passing went out from his account. And it seems as though the hacker group OurMine is responsible for this hoax as both Dylan and Sony Music Global made reference to the hooligans in now-deleted posts. The hacked SMG Twitter wrote:

“We saw a new IP logged in to the account a few minutes ago and the tweet is posted by a new IP so @britneyspears is still alive #OurMine.”

Merp. Dylan’s page also noted:

“OurMine checked Britney Spears twitter account if it’s hacked or not and they detected that it’s hacked! @britneyspears is still alive!!”

Thankfully, Miz Spears’ manager Adam Leber clarified to CNN:

“I assume their account has been hacked. I haven’t spoken to anyone├óΓé¼┬ª as of yet but I am certain their account was hacked. Britney is fine and well. There have been a few Internet clowns over the years who have made similar claims about her death, but never from the official Sony Music Twitter account.”

OurMine is best known for similar hacks against Marvel and Buzzfeed. However, this isn’t the first time Sony’s dealt with hackers. So it’s no wonder Sony is embarrassed about this dramz. They even commented to Entertainment Tonight:

“Sony Music Entertainment’s Twitter account was compromised. This has been rectified. Sony Music apologizes to Britney Spears and her fans for any confusion.”

Eek. Of course, Godney was unbothered by the fake out as she went onto debunk the hoax herself (below).

We’re just so glad 2016 didn’t take Britney from us! Bless.
