Britney Spears was arrested for a DUI on Wednesday night, and now we’re learning more details about what happened.
According to several sources close to the pop star who spoke with TMZ on Thursday, after she was pulled over by cops, Britney was taken to the hospital, where she spent some time early Thursday morning. While she wasn’t injured, California Highway Patrol officers took her there to draw her blood to determine her blood alcohol content. The artist was alone when she was pulled over in Westlake Village, which is near her home.
The results of her testing have not been released, but sources claimed Britney’s been telling folks it was .06 — the legal limit in California is .08; however, you can still be charged with DUI if cops see you erratically driving.

Britney’s inner circle is taking this legal ordeal extremely seriously and hopes it’ll be the catalyst to long-lasting change. Her manager, Cade Hudson, told the outlet:
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
Her children and other “loved ones” are going to be doing everything they can to help:
“Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”
As we covered, Britney is due back in court on May 4. She’s yet to comment on the situation. We’re glad to hear she’s got a support system rallying around her!
