Britney Spears went on Australia’s Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday morning, and a game of Who Would You Rather turned into an awkward moment of shade when she totally forgot she’s met Taylor Swift before!

The singer was being interviewed on the radio show when she was asked if she’d rather spend a 24-hour flight to Australia sitting next to Tay Tay or Katy Perry.
Simple question, right?!
Well, sure, but Spears accidentally made things cringeworthy with her response:
“I don’t know! I don’t know, that’s hard. They’re both so cool, I don’t know. I’ve briefly met Katy Perry at the Smurfs movie premiere. Maybe because I’ve met Katy Perry I would say Taylor Swift, because I’ve never met her before.”
The only problem with that is, uh, Brit Brit has met T.Swift before!!
The pair met on more than one occasion, in fact — first, years ago before Taylor became famous, and later at the 2008 MTV VMAs where they actually posed together for a photo!!!

Obviously, Brit just made an innocent little mistake here — and 2008 was a tough time for her, so let’s cut her some slack — but it’s still a big oopsie!
Hey, at least it’s not a full-on denial of ever knowing the celeb, right?!
