Disney Channel Star Cameron Boyce Dead At 20

Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce has passed away.
The 20-year-old actor, who starred in several Disney shows including Descendants, reportedly passed away in his sleep overnight on Saturday night/Sunday morning, according to law enforcement sources.

Paramedics were called to Boyce’s home at some point early Sunday morning, and they attempted to revive the young actor, but they were unable to do so. According to his family, Cameron had an “ongoing medical condition,” and ultimately passed away in his sleep at some point overnight after apparently suffering through a seizure.
As we’d mentioned, Boyce had been a popular up-and-coming actor in Disney properties, like both the TV and movie versions of Descendants. He was also filming a new HBO show at present, Mrs. Fletcher, and had been in a series of hit movies already in his young career, like Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2, where he played one of Adam Sandler‘s children.
Boyce had started in the business very early, first catching his Disney Channel break at age 11; early credits for him included Shake It Up, Austin & Ally, and Good Luck Charlie, as well as a breakout role for four seasons playing the character Luke on Jessie.
His family has released a statement about the young actor’s death, and Boyce’s impact on the world of television and film at such a young age, as well, sharing with the world the following (below):

“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”

Ugh… so unbelievably sad — and such a shock to see so early this morning. Completely unexpected and awful…

To have such a young, promising, up-and-coming actor taken so soon like this is both shocking and numbing, and we can’t even believe hearing the news ourselves, much less relaying it along to all of you. This is a tough one. Our thoughts and prayers are with Boyce’s family, friends, and loved ones right now. We can’t even imagine what they are going through.
