Cardi B Defends Putting Kylie Jenner In The WAP Music Video After Fans Start A Petition To Get Her Removed!

It’s highly likely you’ve signed more petitions in 2020 than ever before — and up until now, the heavily circulated ones have all been for a good cause: fighting police brutality, supporting climate change efforts, things of that sort.

In the wake of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s headline-making video for their single WAP, however, a new one has been launched to get Kylie Jenner‘s cameo removed from the visuals! Yes, seriously.

As of Monday morning, the Change.org petition titled, “Remove Kylie Jenner From WAP video” has almost 65,000 signatures calling for the KUWTK star to be edited out of Cardi and Meg’s star-studded vid. The description reads:

“The video was perfect until we saw K and I wanted to throw my phone”

Oof, pretty harsh! But it’s obvious that a number of fans were upset about the move and demanded their voices be heard.

Some users also took to Twitter to air their grievances, with one follower arguing that Miz Jenner’s appearance nearly broke the internet when other featured female talent got less attention for doing way more! Alongside a since-deleted clip of Normani doing impressive splits, she wrote:

“Normani did ALL this and Kylie walked down the hall and opened a door. If that’s not a perfect visual indication of Black women having to do the most and white women do the bare minimum to get somewhere, I don’t know what is.”

Bardi quickly fired back, first by showering the Fifth Harmony alum with praise and then getting into the nitty-gritty in a series of tweets:

“Normani is one of the best female artist that dances Like she dances her f**kin ass off! Why would she open a door? Please tell me how that would make sense? The best part of the song is the beat & hook it what makes you want to shake your ass.”

“Not everything is about race. Theres issues out here in the world that it is about race that I preach all the time about. This is not about f**kin race.”

People definitely think it’s about race, though!

In a third message, the 27-year-old rapper finally explained exactly why Kylie — who is many things but NOT a singer nor a rapper — was included in the project at all:

“Why did I put Kylie on my music video? She treated my sister [Hennessy Carolina] and daughter [Kulture] so lovely at her kid [Stormi Webster‘s] bday party. Travis [Scott] and [Off]Set are real close. Kris Jenner have giving me advice on certain things I ask for her husband real cool with mine. “

Did U catch all of that Perezcious readers? She was referring to the momager’s boyfriend (not husband) Corey Gamble at the end, but the sentiment is pretty clear. Between name-dropping their entire inner circle, it’s clear the Bodak Yellow artist and Kylie Cosmetics founder were a lot tighter than we thought. Who knew?! A different fan chimed in and pointed out that both of the aforementioned women showcased their unique strengths in their own way, to which the Grammy-award winner agreed:

For the record, Kylie has not responded to the internet’s petty outcry, but instead remains seemingly unbothered! She shared a BTS look from the shoot on her Instagram feed over the weekend and hasn’t posted much else about it since:

Honestly, we’re not surprised she’s taking this approach! If anything, this drama just drives attention to her brand even more and if she hasn’t responded to years of being called a “culture vulture,” we highly doubt she’ll say anything especially now that Cardi’s vouched for her.

What do U think about all of this, Perezious readers? Crazzzzzzy or what?! Let us know your thoughts (below) in the comments!
