Carlee Russell's 'Ex' BF Thomar Simmons Calls Out Her Phony Alabama Highway Kidnapping Story!

Carlee Russell's 'Ex' BF Thomar Simmons Calls Out Her Phony Alabama Highway Kidnapping Story!

The now-ex-boyfriend of the woman who faked her kidnapping on an Alabama highway earlier this month is speaking out — and he’s not holding back at all this time around.

Of course, we’ve been covering the sordid tale of Birmingham-based nursing student Carlee Russell in recent weeks. She’s the 25-year-old woman who claimed to have seen a toddler walking along the side of the highway late one night early this month in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover. Then, she claimed she was kidnapped by a man and a woman after getting out of her car to check on the young child and was held for 48 hours before finding her way back to family.

Her story has since fallen apart, though. On Monday, an attorney representing Russell admitted his client made up the entire story. And now, as law enforcement agencies in Hoover are determining whether to charge Carlee with anything related to the false report, her ex is speaking out.

Thomar Latrell Simmons took to Instagram late on Monday night with a new post calling out the “dishonesty” put forth by the nursing student in faking her disappearance.

Incensed at Carlee’s kidnapping hoax, Thomar began by writing:

“Carlee’s actions created hurt, confusion, and dishonesty. I was made aware of the false narrative after coming to the defense of my ex Carlee Russell.”

That last part is pretty significant, as he’s now using the word “ex” in reference to Russell. Yeah… He went on to admit that he was “blindsided with Carlee’s actions,” but has now gained some level of closure through learning of what really happened (or, didn’t happen):

“Myself and my family’s nature was to react in love, and genuine concern. We are disgusted from the outcome of this entire situation. I strongly feel exactly like you all: blindsided with Carlee’s actions. This is still an ongoing investigation but with all of the recent information and her confession now we gain closure with this situation. Thank you to all my family, friends, and the nation for support through this.

Then, he concluded like this:

“Thank you again for your unwavering support. The severity in this matter has not been overlooked, and I deeply respect the genuine support shared during this situation. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. With love, Thomar.”

This statement is very notable not only for the “ex” reference, but also because just days before it, Thomar begged the internet to stop “bullying” Carlee over the entire situation.

In an interview with the New York Post over the weekend, Simmons said:

“The only thing I can say is, I want everyone to stop bullying her. I know what it seems like what she did. Just stop bullying on social media. Think about her mental health. She doesn’t deserve that. She doesn’t. Nobody deserves to be cyber bullied.”

Obviously, his tune has changed since then. And while the anti-bullying message is commendable (and true in all situations!), Thomar’s statement makes it clear that he is very much trying to distance himself from his ex-girlfriend and her bizarre claims and actions.
