Cassie once was forced to camp out in a hotel room — but not to hide from Diddy! To hide from her mom!
The Me & U singer took the stand once again during day three of the disgraced rapper’s sex trafficking trial and detailed a harrowing situation no one should ever have to be put in: lying to her own mother about enduring physical abuse. During her testimony, Cassie recalled being physically beaten by Diddy in 2009 after he spotted her speaking to another music producer at an event.
According to her, the now-55-year-old called her a “slut,” which she responded to by hitting him on the face in a drunken stupor. She doesn’t recall leaving a visible mark but claimed when they got to the rapper’s Escalade he beat her and threw her to the floor before stomping on her head and face for several minutes. She tried to escape, she says, but was brought back by one of Diddy’s security guards.
As a result, she was left with highly visible injuries. So the Bad Boy Records founder allegedly sequestered her away in a hotel room to heal… And she didn’t dare leave because she did NOT want her mother Stacey Hobson to see.

While on the stand, she claimed “it wouldn’t be safe” to leave hotel room — specifically, she feared it wouldn’t be safe for her mother:
“I understood Sean’s capabilities, his access to guns, the threats he made prior to that. I was privy.”
That’s so terrifying…
However a mother’s intuition never fails. Cassie explained how Hobson saw a blind item in the press about an alleged abusive relationship and straight up asked her if it was about the rap mogul:
“I didn’t tell my mom the truth because I was ashamed. I also didn’t want to put my mother in danger for knowing anything of that magnitude.”
Put her “in danger”? If she knew about the abuse, she’d be unsafe from Combs?! JFC…
She did eventually come clean though, claiming that an incident in December 2011 — seemingly when Diddy allegedly kicked and bruised her back after finding out about her relationship with Kid Cudi — was the first time abuse ever occurred. She did not, however, mention the “freak-offs.” The 38-year-old told the courtroom:
“I couldn’t hurt her like that. You can’t justify it to anyone. Especially not your mom.”
How horrible. She was just a 20-something-year-old girl trying her best to protect her mother from the danger she was allegedly suffering behind closed doors. So chilling.
