Details are coming out about how the family of Catherine O’Hara plans to honor her following her devastating death.
As we previously reported, the Home Alone actress passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 71 on Friday. Her exact cause of death is unknown at this time. However, Catherine’s rep confirmed she died “after a brief illness.” We also later learned that first responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department received a call to the Beetlejuice alum’s home address at around 4:48 a.m. about an “approximately 70-year-old” who was having difficulty breathing. She was transported to the hospital “in serious condition,” and she passed hours later.

It is an absolute tragedy, and all of Hollywood is mourning her sudden loss. Her family is also grappling with the unimaginable reality of having to say goodbye to Catherine so soon. And now, we know how they plan to do so.
As you know, she is survived by her husband, Bo Welch, and her two sons, Luke and Matthew Welch. And “a private celebration of life will be held by the family,” an obituary shared by Catherine’s rep to People revealed on Friday night. When that will happen is unclear.
We continue to keep Bo, Luke, Matthew, and the rest of their family in our thoughts. Rest in peace, Catherine…
