Congratulations to Céline Dion for SIXTEEN amazing years performing at her residency in Sin City!
The 51-year-old icon closed out her nearly two-decade run in the Nevada desert on Saturday night in front of yet another sold out show, and she even debuted a new song during the event — the aptly-named Flying On My Own!

The iconic singer — who has had so much success in Las Vegas as to practically become synonymous with what it means to have a residency show in the town — said goodbye in an emotional final performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace last night in front of 4,298 people to mark the occasion.
At one point, Dion told the crowd (below):
“I’m supposed to know what to say. I am very excited and I am a little bit emotional at the same time. This is our final show in this beautiful Colosseum in Las Vegas. There are lots of wonderful memories, you know, but it’s kind of strange at the same time, because when they started to put it together I was here and it was like, ‘I don’t know.’ Then I must have misunderstood something because I thought I was going to be here for three months or something like this, and here we are 16 years later. Maybe we have saved the best for last.”
Awww! Funny — and true — and very heartwarming! She earned every moment of those 16 years, though, becoming the standard-bearer by which all Vegas acts are now measured!
The singer also gave a nod to her late husband, René Angelil, for his love and support throughout her time in the Nevada city (below):
“I’m both proud and humbled by what we’ve accomplished at the Colosseum since we began 16 years ago when René and I first shared this dream. This entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career, one that I will cherish forever. I have so many people to thank, but the most important ‘thank you’ goes to my fans, who gave us the opportunity to do what we love.”
So touching!

So emotional!!! And it must have been a truly incredible and memorable night.
Must have been a funny night in parts of the show, too — like the moment when Céline stopped the entire show so that one guy in the front row could duck out at one point and quickly use the bathroom!
