Channing Tatum Gushes Over Amanda Bynes After She Takes Credit For Kickstarting His Career!

Channing Tatum knows Amanda Bynes is the man.
The former Nickelodeon star took partial credit for her She’s The Man costar’s success in a recent interview with Paper magazine, revealing that she “totally fought for Channing [to get cast in] that movie because he wasn’t famous yet.”

Well, the Magic Mike star didn’t mind giving credit where credit is due. When ET asked him about Bynes’ statement at London’s Magic Mike Live premiere on Wednesday, he gushed:

“I guess she sort of told me [she fought to get me in the movie]. I love her… I’m so happy she’s killing it again and just back on the right. She’s so talented and so special. She’s been doing it… I mean, I think it’s so impossible when you start at such a young age to keep perspective. It’s tough.”

It was especially tough for Bynes to gift the world Channing Tatum. She told the mag that producers of the 2006 film weren’t sure about casting the then-unknown, slightly older actor, recalling:

“He’d just done a Mountain Dew commercial and I was like, ‘This guy’s a star — every girl will love him!’ But [the producers] were like, ‘He’s so much older than all of you!’ And I was like, ‘It doesn’t matter! Trust me!'”

And the rest is abstory.
For his part, Chan still has fond memories of filming the comedy with the actress. He remembered:

“She was just so alive. You never knew what was gonna come out of her mouth. She was just on fire. I haven’t seen her in so long. I love her, and I just hope she’s doing [well].”
