Chloe Fineman Reveals Which SNL Host Made Her 'Burst Into Tears' -- And He Responds!

Chloe Fineman Says Which SNL Host Made Her 'Burst Into Tears' -- Elon Musk!

Mystery solved!

For months now, Saturday Night Live fans have been trying to figure out who the anonymous host was that made several cast members cry. Bowen Yang was the one to spill the tea on Watch What Happens Live, saying:

“This man who… this person, this host made multiple cast members cry on Wednesday before the table-read because he hated the ideas. Terrible.”

Awful!!

Later, he added more context on the Fly on the Wall podcast, claiming the tears were in part due to the “stressful environment” of the series, noting:

“Imagine you stay up until 4 a.m. writing a sketch and then the host is like, ‘I f**king hate this.’ You’re gonna have some [reaction]. Your nerves are frayed, you’re going to have some weird, bizarre emotional response.”

Well, it turns out that’s EXACTLY what happened!

Chloe Fineman just outed herself as one of the cast members who was left an emotional wreck after her interaction with Elon Musk. On Monday, she called out the Tesla head in a since-deleted TikTok. Irritated that Elon had criticized the series for its impression of him and Donald Trump, she said:

“OK, I just saw some news article about Elon Musk being like butt-hurt over SNL and his impression, but I’m like you’re clearly watching the show, like what are you talking about? And I’m like, you know what? I’m gonna come out and say at long last that I’m the cast member that he made cry. And he’s the host that made someone cry.”

She acknowledged that she saw “some articles and stuff,” seemingly referring to Bowen’s comments, adding:

“And I was like I’m not gonna say anything. But I’m like, no, if you’re gonna go on your platform [X] and be rude, guess what? You made I, Chloe Fineman, burst into tears because I stayed up late writing a sketch. I was so excited, I came in, I asked if you had any questions and you stared at me like you were firing me from Tesla and were like, ‘It’s not funny.’”

Oof! She continued:

“I waited for you to be like, ‘Ha ha, jk.’ No, then you started pawing through my script, like flipping each page, being, like, ‘I didn’t laugh once, not one time.’”

Brutal!

Despite Elon’s harsh take, the actress said the sketch — from Elon’s headlining episode in May 2021 — made it on the show “and it was fine,” she shared:

“I actually had a really good time and I thought you were really funny in it. But, you know. Have a little manners here…sir.”

While she didn’t name the sketch, it appears to be “The Ooli Show,” in which Elon played a producer named Ragnarok who was in love with Ooli, played by Chloe, Iceland’s “number one social media star” and the host of a pop culture show in the country. See (below):

It has over a million views, it couldn’t have been that bad, Elon!

That said, the SpaceX founder defended himself on X (Twitter) by responding to a tweet about the quickly deleted TikTok, explaining:

“Frankly, it was only on the Thursday before the Saturday that ANY of the sketches generated laughs. I was worried. I was like damn my SNL appearance is going to be so f**king unfunny that it will make a crackhead sober!! But then it worked out in the end”

Look, we get wanting your episode to be a success but that still doesn’t justify being so cruel you make multiple professionals weep! Like WTF? There’s no defending that kind of behavior. He clearly took it too far!

BTW, Bowen actually called out Elon ahead of his hosting gig back in the day, so it seems quite likely this really was who he was taking about. Look:
