This is a heckuva coincidence!
Chris Mintz-Plasse is a person you know, even if you may not recognize his name — although many fans do — since he played McLovin in the popular movie Superbad.
Chris Mintz is, of course, pretty much the same name, but most everybody had never heard it until Friday morning, when more news of the Oregon college shooting was released to the public.

The “other” Chris Mintz (not the actor) apparently charged the shooter at the college Thursday morning, preventing him from killing more people — but in the process, Mintz was shot at least five times. He’s already undergone surgery, though, and is expected to recover!
Now, in a lighthearted twist to a very serious and scary story, thousands of Twitter users are getting the two Chris Mintzes mixed up online — but the actor is doing the best he can to correction the confusion!
In a series of tweets, the Kick-Ass star responded to confused fans, writing:
The heroic Chris Mintz who was shot yesterday is not me. All your tweets are so thoughtful and beautiful, please go find his loved ones

And send the positivity his way.

What a bizarre coincidence — but credit to the actor for being so forthcoming and sweet on Twitter!

We wish Chris the hero all the good health!
And our thoughts remain with all those taken too soon by this awful, awful tragedy.
