Selling Sunset is in shambles!!
According to Variety on Wednesday, the Netflix series WON’T be filming a reunion this season after tension amid cast members. Oh, no! Bummer!!
FWIW, unlike Bravo shows, Selling Sunset didn’t always do a reunion special. They released their first one in 2022 after Season 5. Since then, however, they have been dropping one typically within the first two weeks after a new season premiere — but it’s never been a guarantee. Season 6 didn’t have a reunion because, per reports, it was filmed back-to-back with Season 7, which did include a reunion. But that’s NOT what’s happening now!

The outlet noted that the streamer did not shoot two seasons this time, and they also haven’t even announced if the reality show has been renewed yet. FWIW, it’s doing well on the charts, so if it weren’t for this cast scandal, it would seem like a no-brainer to renew. And yet…
As Perezcious readers likely know, before the season dropped last week, Chrishell Stause and Chelsea Lazkani called out producers for letting co-star Nicole Young spread an alleged lie about Emma Hernan sleeping with a married man — and then not giving her the chance to address it in the series. The former soap opera star called it a “disgusting lie” and even threatened to quit the series!! At the time, Chrishell argued on Instagram:
“Are we really still giving air time to LIARS that just want air time. … I will NEVER work on a show with her on it again. I would rather be sued.”
Wowza!! She also slammed production company Done and Done Productions, adding:
“You are disgusting for blindsiding her with this to see with the world instead of letting her at LEAST defend herself with the TRUTH.”
Similarly, Chelsea called Nicole a “diabolical piece of [trash].” Yikes!!
Despite the backlash, Nicole has stood firm, telling the real estate agents in an IG Stories post:
“Instead of attacking me and accusing me of lying, I think you ladies need to ask your bestie some tough questions.”
And Nicole didn’t back down from her claims, even noting that “I stated this info as a rumor.” But even rumors can be damaging, and she should know that! Interestingly, it’s kinda worse for Emma that there won’t be a reunion because now she won’t get to defend herself — meaning anyone who isn’t keeping up with social media won’t hear her side of the story for a long time (if it ever gets brought back up on the show at all, that is). Oof!
It’s unclear if there have been any casting decisions made about a potential next season. Chrishell’s been on the show from the start, so it would be WILD to see her leave over this! Right now, it seems like Netflix is listening to her demands by not forcing her to work with Nicole right away with the lack of a reunion and all. But what happens next, though, will be telling!
And yet here’s where things get even MORE complicated! There’s way more beef than just this going on behind the scenes. For one, Chelsea has ALSO threatened to walk away from the series if someone else is cast! Ah!
If you watched the new eps, you know Chelsea and Bre Tiesi were at each other’s throats (like usual) this season after Bre filmed a scene with her realtor friend Amanda Lynn, who first exposed Chelsea’s husband for allegedly cheating. It brought the divorce drama into the show and caused a lot of controversy when cast members tried to figure out if Nick Cannon‘s baby momma had done this on purpose out of retaliation.
In an ET interview this week, Bre clarified that she found out that her co-star’s husband was cheating off-camera and called Emma to tell Chelsea last December, which she claims the empanada lover did. She insisted:
“Chelsea calls me directly. We have a full conversation. Very, very clear. She knows exactly every detail, and we were in good standing.”
In March, she had a brief on-screen phone call with Amanda about needing to meet up to discuss some “tea.” They met for the aforementioned scene, and that’s when she found out about the cheating “receipts” for the first time, she claimed. March is the same month People broke the news that Chelsea filed for divorce, BTW. So, she’s doesn’t want to take the blame for this!
But on X (Twitter), Chelsea claimed Bre was in on the whole thing, writing on Saturday:
“Pt 1: Outside of filming Amanda contacted Bre about ‘tea’ — while filming, Bre orchestrated a fake call during her showing which ‘led to a sit down scene with Amanda’ … in other words: she set this scene up with production, already knowing said tea to bring it to tv.”
Chelsea continued:
“Pt 2: I hear what is swirling while filming, and I ask production to set up a scene with Bre. I did this so she could tell me directly, so that it’s not past around to a trillion people before me. Hope this helps!”
Obviously, things still got very out of hand on the show, so that’s why she’s pissed. Because of this, Chelsea is now ready to exit the series if necessary, as she told followers:
“Made it clear and putting it in writing, if racist Amanda is on the show as a cast member. I’m out
“

This season was heavily focused on Chelsea — but it also ended with Amanda trying to get a spot with the Oppenheim Group (AKA a spot on the show). So, now production is looking at losing TWO pivotal stars? Not good!! No wonder they’re scrapping the reunion. Seems like they must be in panic mode and are hoping a break will be enough to let this BTS scandal cool down.
We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any updates on the future of this show! They’re all realtors, after all, so we wouldn’t be surprised if they can negotiate a deal to make a new season work. At least, we hope they can!
