But the internet has recently been thinking the lead in Legally Blonde could’ve been played by another well-known actress!

This star definitely had the comedic chops and hair color to pull off the loveable lawyer. So, who is she?
It’s Christina Applegate!
Christina had finished a decade-long run on Married … With Children as ditzy Kelly Bundy, and she recently revealed why she had hesitations about playing a similar character.
“The script came along my way and it was right after I had just finished, ‘Married’ and it was a blonde who in that first script didn’t win it but ends up going to Yale, or Harvard, I don’t remember. I got scared of kind of repeating myself.”
But hold up a minute…
On Wednesday, Christina tweeted some clarification:
To clarify I did not pass on that movie. The script came my way. It was never offered to me. Gotta clear that up.

Although she regrets her “stupid move,” she’s happy that the 2001 comedy became a breakout hit for Reese:
“Reese deserved that. She did a much better job than I ever could, and so that’s her life. That’s her path.”
Of course, Christina hasn’t done too shabby either, starring in the hugely successful Anchorman films and now Vacation, which opens this week!
But we would’ve loved to have seen take on the bend … and snap!
