Daniel Coleman, the creator behind the YouTube and Netflix children’s program Danny Go!, is mourning the loss of his son.
The social media personality took to Instagram on Friday to announce that his son, Isaac Daniel Coleman, died on Thursday. He was only 14 years old. Alongside pictures of the teenager, Daniel expressed in the caption that he has a lot of “pain” in his heart following his heartbreaking death:
“Oh my sweet boy. There’s so much I want to say, but I don’t know how yet. I already miss you so much, and the pain in my heart is far more than I can process. But looking through thousands of pictures and videos this past week, I’m also filled with tremendous pride. Your 14 years were full of so many challenges, but you met them all with such grit…and you somehow kept your trademark joy in spite of it all. You truly had a spark like no other, Isaac!”
The YouTuber, who also shares 8-year-old son Levi with wife Mindy Coleman, shared that being Isaac’s father was the greatest “honor” of his life:
“Remembering how loved you were and how full of life your time here was gives me great comfort. Being your dad was the honor of a lifetime. I’m so proud of you and I love you forever. Rest peacefully, son.”

So, so sad…
Back in December, Daniel revealed Isaac had been diagnosed with mouth cancer. He explained that he and Mindy “knew this day was coming” because the teenager has Fanconi anemia. According to the Cleveland Clinic, it’s a rare inherited condition that prevents the bone marrow from making blood cells and platelets and causes physical abnormalities that can affect your organs and appearance. People with FA are at an increased risk of developing blood disorders and some kinds of cancer. However, Daniel said Isaac’s cancer came “a little earlier than we hoped” and “is still just such a shocking thing to hear about your child, even if you’ve braced for it for years.”

A month later, Isaac underwent an “extensive” surgery to remove the cancer. And unfortunately, scans showed the disease spread further than expected, leaving the doctor “less than optimistic.” By February, the family received even more bad news that Isaac’s cancer was at stage 3, though really “right on the edge of stage 4.” What’s worse? Due to the teen having Fanconi anemia, treatment options were “much more limited” for him. Daniel ended up cancelling the remainder of his Danny Go! tour that same month to be with his family. Sadly, in April, Daniel announced that Isaac entered hospice care since his cancer continued to “spread aggressively” and his energy levels “dropped very low.” They chose to keep him comfortable and enjoy their remaining days with him.
We’re so sorry to Daniel, Mindy, and Levi for their loss. We are keeping the family in our thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace, Isaac…
