Dave Mirra Couldn't Find A New Passion To Replace BMX -- See What His Friends Are Revealing About His Mental State Before Taking His Own Life

This is still such tragic news.
It’s been four days since legendary BMX rider Dave Mirra committed suicide inside of his truck in Greenville, North Carolina, and we’re still learning new details about what led to his untimely death.
While we’ve already heard from his family and former competitors, Dave’s friends are the most recent people associated with the 41-year-old to speak out about his passing.

While some doctors have linked Dave’s mental state to the concussion-related degenerative brain disease CTE, which affects professional athletes after they retire, the 14-time X Games gold medalist’s friends say his alleged depression was actually due to a lack of passion in his life.
Apparently, Dave was an adrenaline junkie and could never find a suitable outlet to replace his BMX days after retiring back in 2011.
The father-of-two had tried to find a purpose in other things, like teaching extreme sports to local kids. According to one pal, Dave was even talking about building a new speed cycling track just hours before his death.
But in the end, apparently, it wasn’t enough to ease his pain.
Our thoughts continue to be with his friends and family at this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Dave.
