Donald Trump is at it again, publicly attacking Jussie Smollett on social media… and this time, there’s REALLY no clear reason why.
The President took to Twitter just a few hours ago to slam the Empire actor for what Trump somehow thinks is a “Hate Crime” regarding the initial report that somebody involved in the alleged attack on Smollett may have yelled something about “MAGA Country.”

Unable to let things go — especially since Jussie himself has been thoroughly dismissed by the Chicago Police, who appear to be more or less content to move on from here and forget it — Trump whined about it for seemingly no reason on Saturday, completely concocting a brand new sequel to his earlier controversy, apparently out of thin air.
Here’s the President’s charged tweet about Smollett (below):
In addition to great incompetence and corruption, The Smollett case in Chicago is also about a Hate Crime. Remember, “MAGA COUNTRY DID IT!” That turned out to be a total lie, had nothing to do with “MAGA COUNTRY.” Serious stuff, and not even an apology to millions of people!

Hmmm…
The only way to make sense of this, though, is to look at the President’s schedule. He’s in Japan right now for a state visit, and when he fired off this tweet, though it was early afternoon in California (and late afternoon in Washington, D.C.), it was actually very early in the morning in Japan.
So… like he does every single day in the White House rather than doing actual work, was the President watching TV early in the morning and wasting time on Twitter during his state visit to the Asian country, too?
Does this guy actually get any work done, or is he just watching cable news shows like 17 hours a day? (Wait! We already know the answer to that!)

More seriously, though, is the main point here: think what you want about Smollett’s actions in regards to his alleged attack and the controversial aftermath regarding the possibility that it may or may not all have been a hoax. But there’s a major difference between your opinions of the case (or ours, or any other citizen’s) and having the President of the United States publicly call out and blast an as-yet completely innocent American citizen with some pretty politically and racially charged accusations of a hate crime!!!
To say what Trump is doing is inappropriate here is, um, quite the understatement. But then again, that seems to be The Donald’s modus operandi — consistently keep doing the wrong things, and when called out for it, double down and do even more of the same wrong and bad sh*t.
That strategy will surely make American great again, no doubt. **rolls eyes**
