EXECUTIVE TIME! Trump's Leaked Schedules Show How Little He Actually Works!

Donald Trump Leaked Schedule

Donald Trump uses lots of superlatives to refer to himself — the hardest working, the most successful, the least racist — but there’s only one he earns over and over: most hypocritical.
After years of criticizing Barack Obama for taking vacation days, playing golf, etc, Trump has really put the “idle” in “presidlent.” (He really is terrible at spelling.)
We already knew how much golf he was playing. But even when he’s at work, how much is he “working”??
For the past two years, the White House has been releasing a public schedule for the POTUS which has seemed awfully light, but it wasn’t clear what meetings he was in behind closed doors.

Well on Sunday Axios dropped a bombshell — a Trump aide leaked a copy of the President’s private, complete schedule for the last three months, and it’s pretty much exactly what it looked like from the outside.
He spends SO MUCH of his time watching cable news!
According to the docs, Trump takes about 60% of his workday hours for what is labeled “executive time.”
Of the 503 hours of time Trump was “on the clock” from 8-5 in the White House since November, Trump has spent approximately:

  • 77 hours in meetings
  • 38 hours at public events
  • 51 hours in transit
  • 39 hours eating lunch
  • 297 hours in “executive time”

WTF is “executive time” you might ask?

Yeah, that’s not White House jargon or anything. It’s a newly made up term apparently invented by former Chief Of Staff John Kelly — meant to cover all the unstructured hours in Trump’s schedule.
According to Axios, some of that time is spent making calls, some is spent having impromptu, unscheduled meetings, and some is in secret meetings he doesn’t want anyone to know about.
Seriously, that’s in there.
And of course, much is spent, as we’ve read in multiple tell-alls about the administration, watching cable news and yelling about it in the direction of whomever will listen.
The Washington Post did an even closer examination of the schedule — laid over Trump’s Twitter feed! They found while a lot of the “executive time” seems to actually be spent doing something productive (or in Trump’s case, destructive),  during that block every day from 8-11 a.m. it seems Trump has not even really started “working.”
So his business day is typically 11-5. Awesome. How long is YOUR average workday?
In response to the leak, no one on Team Trump has DENIED the accuracy of the reporting. Instead, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders defended Trump’s schedule, saying:

“President Trump has a different leadership style than his predecessors and the results speak for themselves.”

Ha! She actually told the truth for once! She continued:

“While he spends much of his average day in scheduled meetings, events, and calls, there is time to allow for a more creative environment that has helped make him the most productive President in modern history.”

Well, if by “creative environment” she means a place everyone lies all the time, she’s on a roll! Speaking of which, she said:

“President Trump has ignited a booming economy with lower taxes and higher wages, established the USA as the #1 producer of oil and gas in the world, remade our judiciary, rebuilt our military, and renegotiated better trade deals. It’s indisputable that our country has never been stronger than it is today under the leadership of President Trump.”

Yeah, every sentence there was a lie. The economy was on the rise before he got in office, the U.S. has been #1 in oil and gas since like 2012, and American businesses are being hurt by trade wars Trump says are “good and easy to win.”
Oh well, Truthful Sarah was fun while it lasted.
Frankly, we suppose Trump working less is ultimately a good thing, considering how dangerous he is to our security and democracy when he’s actually getting things done.
