How did no one on Dove‘s advertising team see anything wrong with this??
The company has removed an advertisement on Facebook after many slammed it for being racist.
The since-deleted promo took the form of a three second GIF that shows a black woman taking off a dark shirt to reveal a white woman in a beige shirt. The white woman peels off her shirt to reveal another woman.

Understandably, screen grabs went viral after makeup artist Naomi Leann Blake posted them to her page on Friday.

After receiving a ton of backlash, Dove released a statement, saying:
An image we recently posted on Facebook missed the mark in representing women of color thoughtfully. We deeply regret the offense it caused.
