Ellen DeGeneres Entertaining The Idea Of Ending Her Talk Show!

ellen Degeneres sick of show

Y’all broke Ellen DeGeneres!
In an interview with The New York Times, the Ellen host admitted she hesitated before extending her daytime show contract through the summer of 2020, because, well… it’s kind of starting to bore her.
The comedienne said she goes back and forth on the subject and gets conflicting advice from those close to her. While Ellen’s brother tells her to keep going because TV audiences need her quirky positivity, her wife Portia De Rossi thinks the Emmy winner’s talents are being underutilized

She revealed to the paper:

“[Portia] gets mad when my brother tells me I can’t stop.”

To which her wife of 10 years protectively countered:

“I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity. There are other things she could tackle… I don’t see the end of her show as her career ending.”

Ellen not hosting Ellen!? What would that even look like?
According to the performer, she’d love to do another movie and would kill to play “someone unappealing” for a change.

Because IRL, the 60-year-old is nothing but sweet — despite any rumors you’ve heard that she’s nasty to staff members off camera!
When asked about those rumors by the Times, Ellen lamented:

“That bugs me if someone is saying that because it’s an outright lie. The first day I said: ‘The one thing I want is everyone here to be happy and proud of where they work, and if not, don’t work here.’ …No one is going to raise their voice or not be grateful. That’s the rule to this day.”

Portia offered some clarify, telling the paper that her wife could, at times, simply be misunderstood:

“She’s just a bit more complicated than she appears on the show. There’s more range of emotion.”

Thankfully, the funny lady got to showcase a bit more emotional range in Netflix’s Relatable, premiering December 18. She said of her first stand-up special since 2003:

“I wanted to show all of me. The talk show is me, but I’m also playing a character of a talk-show host. There’s a tiny, tiny bit of difference.”

For example:

“There’s been times someone wants a picture, and while I’m doing a selfie, they’re like: ‘You’re not dancing!’ Of course I’m not dancing. I’m walking down the street.”

Sounds like Ellen’s daytime dance will come to an end before we’re ready for it. How many more seasons do U think she can go?
