Savannah Guthrie has been having a tough time following her return to The Today Show.
As you know, Savannah’s mom Nancy Guthrie has been missing for months — in fact, as of Tuesday, she’s been gone without a trace for 100 days. And we’ve heard rumors the police are slowly pulling back on the investigation… So, so sad.
As you can imagine, this isn’t easy for Savannah. She’s put her best foot forward to keep her career rolling. She started hosting Today again, but that’s been really difficult, per an insider for Page Six. The source said on Monday:
“She’s gotten emotional between commercial breaks.”
They said the 54-year-old has been able to compose herself, so it’s not really noticeable on camera when she’s gotten upset between takes, but how sad.

The support of fans rallying around her really gets to her, as well. She’s grateful for the love, but it makes her “emotional,” according to the insider:
“Sometimes a fan will say something sweet to her, whether that is a guest or a sign from a fan outside that makes her feel touched. It’s to be expected.”
And while this doesn’t happen every day, it happens pretty frequently. Which is understandable! Her “strength and bravery” is something that everyone’s been inspired by, according to a second source:
“It’s never going to be ‘business as usual’ for her, but it’s important to her to put one foot in front of the other and keep going.”
Her co-host and pal Jenna Bush Hager has been a great “comfort” to her, as well:
“She leans on Jenna a lot.”

Other staff and cast members have been helping her get through this, too. We’re glad Savannah has so much support. We can’t even imagine…
Our hearts continue to be with the Guthries. We pray they find answers soon.
