Opponents of the recent legalization of gay marriage in Maine have collected enough signatures on a petition to stop the law from going into effect, forcing a statewide vote in November.
It’s the Prop H8te situation all over again.
The law would have gone into effect come September 12th, but now may not come to pass depending on how the vote goes in November.
Judging by the amount of people who signed the petition, we might have a problem. The Stand for Marriage Maine coalition collected more than 55,087 signatures in a month on the petition to put marriage to a vote.
But we have faith.
Remember to vote this coming November!
Just because there isn’t a Presidential election, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t vote! Get out there and make your voices heard!
