European Union Closes On Cloning Ban

Cloning Animals
We can only imagine the complications that could occur if it didn’t happen!
The European Union is moving closer toward a ban on cloning farm animals and a prohibition of imports of cloned livestock and their meat and milk.
We totally understand why! It still hasn’t been perfected!
In January 2008, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, after five years of research and deliberation, approved cloned animals and their offspring for consumption. Cloned animals are “as safe to eat as food from conventionally bred animals,” the FDA’s report said.
Yet, the UE feels that it is not yet a safe source of meat and dairy. While cloned animals develop inside the uterus, they grow extremely quickly and have a high abnormality rate.
The UE feels that because of this abnormality rate, the products from cloned animals are not yet safe for consumption.
It’s still up in the air with who is right, the UE or the USFDA.
We understand the hesitation behind using cloning as a food source, but at the same time we completely see how and why it could be a good thing for the world.
What do U think about the whole issue?
