What’s that? Glad you asked!

Perfluoroalkyls are a hazardous class of stable, synthetic chemicals.

University of Toronto researchers have found that toxicperfluoroalkyls can be found on the surface of many fast food wrappers and subsequently are leaking into your food. Perfluoroalkyls are used to coat the wrapper to keep grease from leaking out of the product, but it has been found coating people’s blood after being ingested.

Pretty gross if you ask us. And it only gets worse!

Through eating fast food as well as other means of exposure, scientists determined that people susceptible to a total of 12 different kinds of the chemical – and the results of prolonged exposure are deadly, literally!

Scientists have found that exposure to PFOA’s can result in the development of cancer, thyroid disease, disrupting of your endocrine system and changes in weight in vital organs like brain, prostate and liver.

Awful! Sounds like the perfect excuse to keep away from the drive-thrus to us!
