While the fast food companies may think that they├óΓé¼Γäóre just trying to improve their sales numbers by advertising to kids, they don├óΓé¼Γäót realize they’re negatively impacting children’s lives by encouraging them to eat fast food.
Last year preschoolers saw 21% more ads for McDonald’s, 9% more ads for Burger King, and 56% more ads for Subway compared to 2007.
And unfortunately, in examining the food served by fast food restaurants, just 12 of 3,039 meal combinations met the nutritional standards for preschoolers, and just 15 met the standards for older children.
There needs to be regulation in place to make sure that fast food restaurants aren’t taking advantage of kids’ moldable minds!
