Floyd Mayweather Jr. Gets Controversial -- Believes There Are 'More Important Things' To Fixate On Than Bill Cosby

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is so done with talking about Bill Cosby!
In a recent interview, the retired boxer came close to admitting that the media’s fixation with Cosby’s alleged sexual assault history is based on racism. Whoa!
Though the athlete made sure to note that what the comedian is accused of doing is “not right,” he felt that the news cycle is overlooking “current” problems in our country — such as police brutality.

He shared:

“Racism still exists. That’s no different from the Bill Cosby situation. What he did is not right, but there’s so much police brutality out there. There’s things that we don’t talk about. There’s a lot of young black males and females being killed by police, being beat up by police, but those are things we don’t talk about. We would rather talk about stuff with Bill Cosby that happened 30 or 40 years ago.”

Well, the TV icon was JUST arrested, so we feel that’s pretty current. Still, we understand where the 38-year-old is coming from.
In fact, Floyd expressed his frustration with the fact that the Cosby coverage paled in comparison to other controversies and even singled out Jared Fogle and Woody Allen. Floyd may be retired but he’s still looking for a fight, that’s for sure.
He continued:

“From what I heard, there was a guy that was with Subway. There’s another guy├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥is that Woody Allen? Those things are going on, but we seem to turn our heads the other way and don’t look at things like that…I think there’s more important things in the world that we need to worry about than something that happened over 30 or 40 years ago.”
