The Cosby Show star Malcolm-Jamal Warner has died at just 54 years old. He was on vacation with his family in Costa Rica — when he tragically drowned while swimming on Sunday. His poor wife and daughter!
The Costa Rican National Police told ABC the actor was at the beach in Limon when he was caught by a high current. He was formally identified by the police, who say he died of asphyxia.
Oof. What a loss.
Malcolm was on TV most of his life, starring and guest-starring on all sorts of shows: Malcolm & Eddie, Between The Lines, Suits, Community, The Resident, Major Crimes, 9-1-1… but of course he’ll always be best known as Theo from The Cosby Show.
The legacy of Bill Cosby has obviously been horribly tainted. But the Cosbys were America’s family in the ’80s. And now it really feels like we’ve lost a brother. #RIP
