Looks like the French and Americans might have something in common. Gasp!
As we mentioned Thursday, Carla Bruni, the French first lady, is getting no love from music critics.
Her most recent album, out on Monday in the U.K., is being totally panned by the British media!
Well, it seems like some of the French public isn’t so supportive of a pop star first lady.
Bruni told the French media, “Of course it hurts me, but I also find it quite natural. It’s understandable that people can’t help mixing up my work as an artist and my function. Maybe they feel offended by the fact the head of state’s wife should make a record.”
Yeah, singing songs about cocaine and lovers…not very first lady-like!
‘Americans’ would lose their shit if Michele Obama (or Cindy McCain) did that!
