Even though he has no aspirations to run for office, George Clooney is still MORE than willing to get political for an issue he cares about!
Last night at the Critics’ Choice Awards, George opened up about the crucial issue of gay rights.
Here’s what he had to say about it:
“I think the world is changing and it’s becoming less and less of an issue and I think it shouldn’t be long now. I think younger people are looking at this like, ‘Who cares?’
“I do believe it’s generational, much like the civil rights movement. Young people started taking to the streets and things changed. This really is the final leg of the civil rights movement.”
Not only that, but George is putting his money where his mouth is! As we mentioned back in December, he’ll be headlining a Los Angeles benefit stage reading of 8, which is Dustin Lance Black’s play that focuses on the federal case challenging Prop 8.
