We were blown away by Ryan Gosling in Drive. We were fascinated with how interesting Brad Pitt made the game of baseball seem in Moneyball. And now…we’re looking at you, George.
When attending the Closing Night Gala presentation of his new movie The Descendants at the 49th annual New York Film Festival, George Clooney was asked to comment on the Oscar buzz he’s receiving.
Here’s what he had to say about it:
“I’ve been in and out of that buzz many times in my life, and I’ve really gotten very good at not paying attention to things like that, because here’s the funniest thing: I really like making the movies. That’s really fun to do. I like directing them, I like acting in them when they work. And if people appreciate that, what really lasts is the movies. Really, truly, it’s a funny thing. I don’t remember who wins awards, I remember the movies when I see them. And that’s what I like the most about it.”
So modest! Between his starring role in The Descendants AND his directing/writing/starring role in The Ides of March, we’d say Mr. Clooney is likely to be nominated for a few awards AT LEAST!
We appreciate you not getting cocky, George, and we’re glad that you’re so passionate about film…but come on! You know you’re at least A LITTLE excited about potentially snagging an Oscar or two! Admit it! LOLz!
What do U think? Will George Clooney be the big winner at this year’s Academy Awards?
